		Preconvention Message: Dr. José Sellas Aponte 2007 PRTESOL President I am very happy to assume the presidencyof PRTESOL for 2008. We have a very dynamic, energetic, and experienced board this year. We have five active past presidents serving on the board at present and a committed group of lifelong board members that form the strong foundations of PRTESOL. We also have the first timers, the newcomers that have accepted the calling of our organization. They are the new blood of PRTESOL. This is the perfect combination to guarantee success, not only this year, but for many years to come! This year our projections in the PRTESOL Calendar include 6 Regional Chapter Conferences that will be held in different parts of our Island throughout the year. In addition to our Chapter Conferences, we plan to have an End of Semester Conference, A Summer Conference, and Back to School Conference. We will also send a team of presenters in October to extend a kind brotherly hand and offer our Dominican Colleagues the yearly Outreach Conference in Dominican Republic. And of course we plan to finish the year with a Bang at our Annual Convention. This year we will be celebrating PRTESOL’s 35^th Annual Convention and Exhibit. This year’s theme is *The Next Generation of ESL: Tapestry for Success.* We are extremely happy that our two day convention will be held at the Gran Meliã Hotel in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico during Friday, November 21^st and Saturday, November 22^nd. Please mark these days on your calendar, the Convention is just around the corner! We have planned with love and admiration many educational activities for your professional growth and development in the field of ESL teaching. We hope that you attend as many activities as possible throughout the year. This year we salute, honor, and pay tribute to you, *The Next Generation of ESL Professionals of Puerto Rico. Attention all Members: PRTESOL Re-establishes Interest Sections Interest Sections (ISs) are special professional interest groups within PRTESOL. Joining PRTESOL entitles you to full membership privileges in an interest section of your choice. Membership in an interest section may include an IS-specific newsletter, a web presence on our PRTESOL cyber site, and IS voting rights. Each IS can make important contributions to PRTESOL chapters and the annual convention by creating or offering services to other members on areas of importance to a particular group. PRTESOL Interest Sections are another way of building bridges to unite and the many voices within our organization.
